7 Lasting Myths About Fasting

I got several emails about this whole intermittent fasting thing with some really good questions, especially after reading the previous post on intermittent fasting. Many of them were the same questions I had in mind when I first heard about it and shamefully, I was pretty close-minded when it came to fasting.  You see, I believed in several of the following myths, too.  Well, I went from close-minded to adopting it as a lifestyle.  Fasting has helped me maintain my weight (even through the holidays), and that includes a bi-weekly (ok, maybe weekly) trip to my favorite frozen yogurt place, Menchies. So, let’s talk some more about intermittent fasting.  I’ll let Eat-Stop-Eat author and nutrition expert Brad Pilon explain.  Enjoy! 7 Lasting Myths About Fasting By Brad Pilon, MS Eat-Stop-Eat Continue reading…

3 Great Reasons Why Intermittent Fasting is a Good Idea

I’ve been getting some great questions about intermittent fasting from friends, family, clients, boot-campers and others.  “Don’t you starve?”   “Won’t your metabolism shut down?”  “You’re going to be so cranky”.  Ha-ha!  And here you are at CrankTraining.com.  100% pure ironic awesomeness.   Look, I’m going to be honest with you.  I used to think Fasting was just another gimmick.  Then I read Brad Pilon’s Eat-Stop-Eat book and was literally blown away. It was a … fast…. read, too.  Yep, I went there… it’s just how the words played out.  Seriously, Brad debunks many myths about fasting and I find it one of the most simplistic “diets” to follow for both short-term and long-term success.  I currently have several clients using this method because quite honestly – it’s very easy to Continue reading…

Are you a serious reader?  Please start here and ignore above.  D’oh! Too Continue reading…

What Inspires You? An Inteview with a FB Friend Part 2

This is part 2 of my interview with my friend Margaret.  If you missed part 1, you won’t want to miss out on it.  You can read it here.  She has an amazing story and her journey still continues today. Mike: You have named your training “Purely Natural Fitness”.  What helped you come up with that name because I like it. Margaret: I am glad you like it!  (-:  When I was thinking of a name, I wanted it to reflect my philosophy on fitness.  I want to promote natural eating, as well as natural fitness.  I do not like machines.  I don’t like things that limit movement and where you have to sit down to do it.  I try to use exercises that a person might need to function Continue reading…
